today, we played a tough game with rijc. and i felt disappointed, even though we played well, because, they are really normal human beings, they fumbled the ball so many times, but the ref didnt see, and even penalise us because he thought we were offside. well, coach was pissed at the ref, but was really happy that our team really gave them a hard time, by half time, 17 - 0. 2nd half, we hold them for 15mins before their first try, and frankly speaking, 90% of their tries at second half, was because of the referee's lousy decision making, scrum half knocked on, he didnt see, at least 4 times! and lucas went there, become penalty because the ref thought the scrum half haven picked up the ball. and from far, we just walked because we knew it was a knock on, but we were suppose to back 10. so the try came about. rijc isnt that strong, we could break through a couple of times but we got tackled at their 22. but i have to say, rijc scrums are strong, dirty but in a smart way, holding flankers pants, prop and hooker digging us at the same time, and their line outs have 3 jumpers, literally. we gave them a tough game, the best part was the 15min no try situation where we held them so perfectly. but nevertheless, i felt satisfaction, but regretting on my decision into playing second team, becasue i ddint train as hard as i did last year, nice match cougars, this team will bring back the plates for sure.
